The 2016 Grammy Award goes to…
The Grammy Awards for 2016 were an astounding win for Taylor Swift with the best album of the year and she looked absolutely stunning as ever. Taylor performed the opening song at the show and managed to change outfit straight afterwards so she could collect her award in style.
The gorgeous Ed Sheeran scooped two awards for best song for the year and the best solo pop performance, so it’s really paid him to spend so much time touring and gigging since 2011. Mark Ronson with Bruno Mars won a well-deserved record of the year award for Uptown Funk.
The late Amy Winehouse was honoured with the award for best music film for Amy, but it was 12 year old jazz pianist Joey Alexander who stole the show at this year’s Award Ceremony, he grabbed the heart of the crowds who gave him a standing ovation for his nomination as this year’s youngest performer.
The best rap album was To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar who also won for the best rap song with Alright. Adele had a problem with her live performance when a mic fell causing a slight breakdown in proceedings.
Lady Gaga’s tribute to David Bowie stole the show at the Grammy Awards in LA although not everybody was impressed by her renditions of some Bowie classics, his son Duncan Jones tweeted that her performance was irrational and overexcited and spawned a Twitter conversation which is still on-going.
We reckon Taylor Swift was definitely the winner of our best dressed award at the After Grammy’s parties and we were thrilled that Justin Bieber won his first Grammy Award for Where Are U Now, a well-deserved dance award for a popular guy with a big following. Awesome Bieber!
